The Palm Pre seems like a great phone – similar but, more importantly, different than the iPhone. The iPhone is a LED flashlight, while the Pre is a MagLight.
The iPhone does one thing at a time, for the most part, and does it the better than anyone else. The Pre keeps up with all your activites at the same time.
There’s a lot to write about the Pre; I really think Palm has a challenger to the iPhone here.
Steve Jobs has stepped down as CEO of Apple Inc until June, citing health reasons. This news is traveling incredibly quick. I imagine he’ll be back very soon. Stress is a huge strain on your weight, and if he is trying to get back to a healthy weight, getting away from work and stress is a great prescription.
During the past week I have learned that my health-related issues are more complex than I originally thought.
In order to take myself out of the limelight and focus on my health, and to allow everyone at Apple to focus on delivering extraordinary products, I have decided to take a medical leave of absence until the end of June.
First came Auto Tune for vocals, to automatically correct any flat or sharp vocals. Now comes this … simply amazing tool. Check it out, if for no other reason than the great sample song.
To break it down again, this takes both your vocals, and the sound of any other instrument, and creates a single track that has both the original vocals, and an electronic harmony based on the instrument input. You play a higher note on a guitar or keyboard, and the harmony goes higher. You play a lower note, the harmony goes lower. Enchanting.
Update: After some digging, it looks like the Voice Box only runs around $220 online. Not too shabby.
I happened to see a trailer for the upcoming movie Taken recently. It’s a really great trailer, take a look.
While the movie looks absolutely amazing, this trailer really got my attention, and I think I see a reason why. Most movie trailers are edited so heavily that it looks nothing like the actual movie. If you notice, they even splice together character’s lines so they say things completely opposite of the way they are delivered in the film. This trailer is different.
This trailer is simply two and a half minutes of the film. It is a very pivotal two and a half minutes, a very well chosen two and a half minutes, but two and a half minutes with no editing. It’s such an honest way of presenting a film that it felt genuine, and I could let myself get absorbed into the film world. I will see this movie now, because I want to know more about the world I glimpsed.
