It has come to my attention that some details of my writing may be slipping by a few of our readers, astute though they may be. For that reason I’ve compiled a list of fun facts and interesting pointers to help everyone slog through the mess I’ve created.

• Eustace really, really hates the english language. Think of it as if the english language killed his mother.
• Hank hates the english language, but in a much less intense way than Eustace.
• Because of these two facts every word spoken by Eustace is a direct attempt to destroy the english language. Hank can understand him because he also hates the english language.
• The flaming beast of Zagher that appears in chapter 8 represents the repressed angst Eustace feels towards Melissa. That is why the potato is so funny.

• They both work at a fictional job as “internet forum posters” because that is the only place their goal of destroying the english language would match up with the job description. Well, either that or rappers.
• Eustace also has a problem with authority, something that probably fuels his hatred of english.
• That’s all

Also, I just thought I should let the internet know that my dog absolutely loves chasing flies around my backyard, but is not too good at catching them. We’ve got some work to do.
