Style++; ++Gore++; Laughs++; Money–;

For all I liked Kill Bill 1, I still have the impression that I just gave away too much money to see it. The style was great, it had a wonderful lack of self respect, but there was just something missing to me. Will I see volume 2? Yes.

What can I say; the story draws me in.

UPDATE: Kill Bill 2 - XXXX* (4.5 out of 5 fjords)

I’ve always loved good sword play, and the first movie definitely had plenty of that. Personal favorites of mine are more in books, though. Specifically, any of the books by author Steven Lawhead do it for me. Trust me, though, his writing is orders of magnitude better than mine.

UPDATE [possible spoilers]:

I’ll try to keep the spoilers to a minimum, but you have been warned.

Summary: Wow, just wow. While the first movie left a soggy-carrot aftertaste, this movie is all honey. Everything was top-shelf, from the cinematography, to the action sequences, to the purposely placed comic relief. If you’re gonna spend ~$9 on a movie this month, make it Kill Bill Vol 2.

Being rather picky about this stuff, I was worried for a couple scenes that it would resort to nudity and crap like that to try and catch the audience’s interest, but thankfully Tarantino has enough confidence in his work to let it speak for itself. This leave the viewer with an unrestrained block of movie greatness.

My only complaint with the movie is
when she’s shot by a DOUBLE-BARREL SHOTGUN in the CHEST, she doesn’t die. Yeah, I know it’s not filled with shot, but rock salt, but who cares? Double-barrel, in the chest, and she still PUNCHES her way out of an UNDERGROUND COFFIN. And also, I thought people were burried 6 feet underground, not the 20 that it seems in the movie
.

But that is no major complaint, just a little persnickity detail.

Now that you’re done reading, go see it!

Yeah, dude! Good “heads up” on the movie thing, and so … (here’s the real kicker) can I borrow $9 to see it?

Seeing as you’re real “with it,” as the kids would say, I just might have to let you have whatever it takes to see this movie. My advice to you, though, is make sure you see the first movie before seeing vol. 2. You could probably catch what’s going on, but it’d be more fun to see vol. 1 first.
